Cloud computing and African computing

The first thing that come to mind, when reading or watching a cloud computing series, is the relationship with the ways and manner Africans (esp Nigerians) have accepted technology. Fine, technology is soaring high in Africa, thanks to the international companies that have made Africa its prime market, particularly the social media platforms, without helping to actually change attitude and purview.

The issue is that traditional computing; that is purchasing of both software and hardware, and keeping updates, patches and maintenance, is still a norm, and producing results (even making companies like Microsoft richer). I call this African Computing', because its the modern day slavery of the 21st Century.'

The solution by most IT experts is 'Cloud Computing', and the big names in the industry are already in the war zone, to make first in the market, however, some are still leveraging the big hole, created by the shift in market strategy.
